Human Resources wins award for retirement campaign

WVU Medicine Human Resources recently won an Eddy Award in a competition sponsored by "Pensions & Investments," a money management publication. It won second place in the “Conversions” category for not-for profit institutions.

"Pensions & Investments" saluted WVU Medicines HR's campaign, “Even superheroes want to retire,’’ which involved moving the institution’s retirement plan to a single entity.

In describing the campaign, "Pensions & Investments" said: "Noting that the doctors and other medical professionals have dedicated their lives to helping others, the campaign emphasized that they also need to put themselves first every now and then. In moving to a single record keeper, the healthcare system and TIAA’s campaign boosted engagement by providing comprehensive fee information, investment education, and Q&As."

The award winners were featured in the April 3 issue of "Pensions & Investments." Kym Gillespie, director of Employee Health, Benefits, and Employee/Labor Relations, accepted the award at a luncheon held in Miami on March 20.

The Eddy Awards recognize best practices in retirement savings education for defined contribution plan participants that helps thousands of people plan for their retirement. Entries were submitted from all over the U.S. and Canada.
