Interim Chair wins Alumni Award

Dr. Matthew Gurka, Interim Chair of the Department of Biostatistics, has been chosen as the James E. Grizzle Distinguished Alumnus of the Department of Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina for 2013. This award recognizes prominent recent graduates and rising stars in the field of biostatistics. “You are most deserving of this recognition for your entrepreneurial contributions in public health research,” says Donglin Zing, PhD, Chair of the Awards Committee, UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
