Johnstone to serve as interim chair of Anesthesiology

Robert Johnstone, M.D., has been appointed to serve as interim chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, effective July 1. Dr. Johnstone will hold the position until a search is conducted and a new chair is announced.

Current department chair, Manuel Vallejo, M.D., is preparing to assume the duties of the School’s designated institutional official (DIO) and assistant dean for Graduate Medical Education (GME) on July 1.

Johnstone and Dr. Vallejo will work closely together to transition responsibilities and will be available to assist with administrative issues during this time of transition.
