Just Desserts

Organizers of the fifth annual Just Desserts fundraiser hope to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth, while raising money for brain cancer research at the WVU Cancer Institute.

Hosted by the Let the Journey Begin Fund Committee at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, Just Desserts starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, at St. John University Parish in Morgantown. Admission is $30 per person if purchased in advance and $35 per person at the door, and includes various types of desserts, entertainment, silent and live auction items, and more.

The Let the Journey Begin Fund was created in 2011 by Erin "Poppy" Polak after her aunt, Erin Dunmire, who is director of customer service at WVU Medicine, was diagnosed with brain cancer. The name of the fund was inspired by Dunmire, who always told Polak that life is a journey and to enjoy the moments.

Monies in the Let the Journey Begin Fund benefit brain cancer research and provide comfort for adult brain cancer patients at the WVU Cancer Institute.
