Kitzie’s supports WVU Medicine University Healthcare Cancer Comfort Fund
MARTINSBURG, W.VA. – Kitzie’s Restaurant and Lounge recently donated $500 to the WVU Medicine University Healthcare Foundation to support University Healthcare’s Cancer Comfort Fund.
The Cancer Comfort Fund was established by the University Healthcare Foundation to provide emergency assistance to cancer patients whose immediate needs can’t be met by another agency. Types of services funded include medication/medical supplies, transportation, and nutritional supplements.
“We have also used cancer comfort fund donations to pay for the $60 discounted mammograms that we offer in May and October,” Teresa McCabe, vice president of marketing and development for University Healthcare/University Healthcare Foundation, said.
According to Kim Miner, manager at Kitzie’s, the money was raised during their monthly “Ladies Night” which is open to the public.
