Medical coding education program available

WVU Medicine is offering a medical coding education program, designed to train students to become eligible for a position as a hospital coding specialist or a professional coding analyst.

Fifteen candidates, plus two alternates, will be selected to complete this program. Upon completion of the course, students will take the Certified Procedural Coding (CPC) exam.

A committee reviews the applicant pool and determines potential candidates. Class members are selected using standardized criteria, including the results of a pre-test administered during the interview.

The application is available April 10-26. The program will run July 11 to Nov. 30.
