Metheny promoted to HIM leadership role for Ruby

Christine Metheny has been named Health Information Management (HIM) director and chief privacy officer for WVU Medicine-Ruby Memorial Hospital, effective immediately.

Metheny succeeds Melissa Martin, who was recently named associate vice president, privacy and enterprise information management, and chief privacy officer of HIM for WVU Medicine.

Metheny has an extensive career with near 30 years of experience in HIM and has served two stints at WVU Medicine, most recently returning in 2014. Her most recent role was as HIM manager/data content and integrity.

Metheny is in her third term as president of the West Virginia HIM Association after serving as president-elect. She has been a member of that group since 1986. She is also a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and has served on several committees.
