New Butterfly Initiative website launches

A revolution in patient care is coming to WVU Medicine, and trust us – it’s going to be epic.

Care providers and Information Technology experts are working together to roll out the latest version of the Epic Electronic Health Record to all WVU Medicine facilities over the next year.

This is the biggest and most transformative project that the organization has ever undertaken. The project is called the Butterfly Initiative to signify the organization's metamorphosis into a fully integrated academic health system and a national leader in providing high-quality care.

The Butterfly Initiative website on CONNECT (look for the button in the top right corner) has all of the details, including project updates, blogs, and a timeline. 

WVU Medicine's hospitals and outpatient clinics in the Morgantown area will upgrade to Epic 2015 on Dec. 10. Specific information about training will be provided closer to the event.
