New Department of Biostatistics Faculty

Dr. Christa Ice will be an Assistant Professor in the emerging Department of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health at West Virginia University. Previously, Dr. Ice was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine, also at WVU, where she worked as the biostatistician of the Coronary Artery Risk Detection in Appalachian Communities (CARDIAC) project. Dr. Ice received her PhD in Psychology with emphasis in both Developmental and Quantitative Psychology from Vanderbilt University. She has experience working with parent-child interactions as they relate to child achievement and health outcomes, and has applied statistical interests in factor analysis, structural equation modeling, and psychometrics. Dr. Ice maintains a strong record of scholarship resulting in many conference presentations to date. She has co-authored published articles in Pediatrics, American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, and Archives of Internal Medicine, in addition to first author publications in other pediatric, obesity, and psychological and educational journals. Dr. Ice enjoys teaching introductory biostatistics and multivariate analysis, and looks forward to formally joining the faculty of the Department of Biostatistics.
