New Department of Biostatistics Faculty

Dustin M. Long will soon receive his PhD in biostatistics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests include causal inference, selection bias, and infectious diseases. He has instructed the introductory course in biostatistics at UNC and was the first student from the Gillings School of Global Public Health to receive the university-wide Tanner Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching by Graduate Teaching Assistants in 2010 for his efforts. Originally from Tennessee, he received his B.S. from Tennessee Wesleyan College and M.S. from Tennessee Tech University, both in mathematics. His wife Leann, also pursuing her PhD in biostatistics at UNC, and their son Charlie will be joining him in Morgantown.
