New process for C. diff hand sanitizer dispensers announced

This photo shows what the C. diff hand sanitizer dispenser should look like.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 11, hand sanitizer dispensers for employees caring for C. diff patients must be marked appropriately. This sign reading "Stop, wash your hands!" and a red bouffant, which is available from Materials Management, should be placed on the hand sanitizer dispensers inside and outside C. diff rooms.

When a positive C. diff culture presents, it will be up to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure the hand sanitizers are addressed. Print a copy of the "Stop, wash your hands!" PDF, tape it to the front of the dispensers, and place a red bouffant over the dispenser. The infection preventionist will monitor the progress of the new process.
