Nominations for employee representative on WVU Hospitals' board of directors now being accepted

Nominations for the employee representative on the WVU Hospitals' board of directors are now being accepted. To nominate someone, go to http://healthweb.rcbhsc.wvu.edu/plsql/oracle/bod_badge_verify.

WVUH has a 17-member board, and one member is a hospital employee who is elected by staff. Charles Wisilosky, house supervisor, is the current employee representative on the board, and he is not eligible to participate in this year's election since he has served in this role for two terms.

All employees listed on the official WVUH payroll records as of June 1, 2016, are eligible. Nominations will be accepted until 8 a.m. Sunday, June 26.

The three employees who receive the most nominations will be eligible for the election, which will run Tuesday, July 5, through Sunday, July 24.

The employee receiving the most votes will be named to the board of directors and will begin his or her term Monday, Aug. 1.

The responsibilties and duties of the role include:

  • Understanding and demonstrating a commitment to the corporation's mission.
  • Keeping up to date with issues and trends that affect the organization.
  • Contributing skills and knowledge by participating actively in board and committee meetings.
  • Ensuring the corporation is complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.
