Nutrition Services staff raises funds to support co-worker's fight against cancer

Nancy Barber (pictured wearing a yellow jacket), who has worked in Nutrition Services since November 2003, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and has battled several recurrences. Her current round of treatment has left her unable to work.

Recognizing the financial hardship and wanting to do something to support their friend and co-worker, the Nutrition Services staff sold T-Shirts with the pink ribbon butterfly image and “Proud Friend of a Hero Fighting Breast Cancer” for $20. Staff members also contributed $2 to wear them at work the day they presented Barber with the money and a shirt of her own. A total of $1,592 was raised.
