Pack The Rack: Health Sciences Center collecting food for students in need

Hunger is a real issue for some WVU students and their families. This holiday season, the WVU Health Sciences Center community is stepping up to make sure WVU’s student food pantry, The Rack, is stocked and ready heading into the cold months.

The goal is to collect at least 2,015 non-perishable food items between Monday, Nov. 16, and the end of Fall Semester.

The great people who run The Rack – including many student volunteers – say the following items are most sought-after:

  • Beans
  • Rice
  • Tuna
  • Chicken
  • Sardines
  • Grains
  • Pasta
  • Tomato paste

Any non-perishable food is appreciated.

Look for collection bins throughout the HSC starting Nov. 16. And fill them up!
