Photo gallery from May 11 Nurses Week Carnival available

The WVU School of Nursing and WVU Medicine celebratee National Nurses Week by hosting a Nurses Week Carnival at the Erickson Alumni Center today (May 11).

The carnival included prizes, games, food and special appearances by the Mountaineer; Cooper, the Black Bears mascot; and WVU Medicine’s Monti Bear. Attendees were also able to enjoy free chair massages, have their picture taken with a colleague at the photo booth, and purchase items from nearly 20 local vendors. WVU Medicine chaplains provided the Blessing of the Hands - a unique tradition often affiliated with Nurses Week.

National Nurses Week (May 6-12) is held each year to celebrate and promote the nursing profession and the important roles nurses play in healthcare. This is the second year that the WVU School of Nursing and WVU Medicine have teamed up to host the carnival. Last year, more than 250 people participated in the activities.
