Pro Performance RX makes donation to Betty Puskar Breast Care Center
Pro Performance RX at Mylan Park in Morgantown is supporting the work of the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center to fight breast cancer. The fitness and sports training facility held a fundraiser this October called Power of Pink Walk for a Cure 2015 and recently presented Ginger Layne, MD, medical director of the Breast Care Center a check for about $270. “We wanted to do something to raise awareness about breast cancer, while encouraging people to be active,” Gabbie Kassis, corrective exercise specialist and personal trainer at Pro Performance RX, said. During the month of October, members and non-members were asked to keep a 20 ounce bottle and deposit 50 cents into it for every mile they walked. The participant who walked the farthest, trekked 75 miles, raising $152, and earned a three-month free membership at the facility.
“We are happy to support a good cause,” Steve Coup, fitness coordinator and personal trainer at Pro Performance RX, said. “Every little bit helps.”
