Scatterday to lead Health Sciences communications

Bill Case, long-time health sciences communications director, has entered the University's phasedBill Case retirement plan. Case is a member of the WVU University Relations leadership team and managed the staff responsible for internal and external communications across health sciences. His new role will include working on advancing national recognition for WVU Health Sciences and its leadership teams. He began his career at the University in 1985 as a writer and editor in what is now the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design. Since then, he has served in a number of communications positions for WVU and University Health Associates, and one year as communications director for former West Virginia Governor Bob Wise.

Case’s position will be filled by Tara Scatterday, School of Medicine communications and marketing directorTara Scatterday. Scatterday joined the University in 2014 after working as an advertising agency executive and in hospital marketing and communications for several years in Connecticut and North and South Carolina. She is a WVU alumna with degrees in business administration/marketing and journalism and started her career as a graduate assistant with MDTV and the WVU Medicine marketing team. Scatterday’s new role is effective as of March 1. The School of Medicine will begin a search to replace Scatterday's position.
