Solid Gold

Susan Stuart, left, president, Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE), presented Albert L. Wright, Jr., president and CEO, WVU Medicine-WVU Hospitals, with a Gold Award last week, as part of the National Hospital Organ Donation Campaign.

Along with the award presentation, CORE representatives and employees gathered in front of Ruby Memorial Hospital to raise the Donate Life flag.

The flag was raised to honor the donors who gave others the gift of life and to remind us what a powerful impact that decision can have. In 2015, 73 lives were saved thanks to the organ, tissue, and cornea donation program at Ruby.

Chad Weese, a WVU Medicine-Ruby Memorial Hospital employee who received a kidney, helped raise the flag.
