UHA board members named

Three WVU physicians have been appointed to a two-year term on the University Health Associates (UHA) Board of Directors.

Both Sanford Emery, M.D., of the WVU Department of Orthopaedics, and Michael Hurst, M.D., of the WVU Department of Otolaryngology, have been re-appointed to the board. Matthew Ellison, M.D., of the WVU Department of Anesthesiology, is a new appointment.

Their term runs from July 2016 until June 2018.

Other WVU physicians who will remain on the UHA board include: Judie Charlton, M.D., WVU Medicine chief medical officer;  Brian Grose, M.D., of the WVU Department of Anesthesiology; Clay Marsh, M.D., vice president and executive dean for health sciences;  John Parker, M.D., of the WVU Department of Medicine; Larry Rhodes, M.D., of the WVU Department of Pediatrics; and Alison Wilson, M.D., of the WVU Department of Surgery.

University Health Associates is the business name for the WVU Medical Corporation, a private, not-for-profit corporation composed of faculty members of the WVU School of Medicine. The WVU Medical Corporation is West Virginia’s largest multi-specialty physician practice. Its Morgantown operations are jointly operated with WVU Hospitals; together, the two organizations are known as WVU Medicine.

University Health Associates also operates faculty clinics around the state and provides support to faculty members who practice at a number of West Virginia hospitals.
