Volunteers needed to assist in planning blood drives

J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, along with most other WVU Medicine hospitals, has partnered with The Institute for Transfusion Medicine (ITxM) to provide blood products. Central Blood Bank, one of ITxM’s entities, will provide blood services to Ruby.

Ruby will also host blood drives through Central Blood Bank, and volunteers are needed for a Blood Drive Committee to plan the drives. Responsibilities would include:

  • attending quarterly committee meetings
  • assisting with signing up donors for approximately four blood drives each year.

The first blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, in the atrium of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.

If you are interested in helping with this and future blood drives, please contact Traci Hinkle at hinklet@wvumedicine.org.
