Voting underway for employee representative on WVUH board of directors

Nominations for the employee representative on the WVU Hospitals' board of directors were recently accepted, and the employees who received the most nominations include: Sarah Belch, Jaime Billotti, and Kevin Mark Smith, Jr.

Employees can cast their vote for the candidates now through Sunday, July 24.

The employee who receives the most votes will serve a two-year term on the board of directors starting Aug. 1.

WVUH has a 17-member board, and one member is a hospital employee who is elected by staff. Charles Wisilosky, house supervisor, is the current employee representative on the board, and he is not eligible to participate in this year's election since he has served in this role for two terms.

The responsibilties and duties of the role include:

  • Understanding and demonstrating a commitment to the corporation's mission.
  • Keeping up to date with issues and trends that affect the organization.
  • Contributing skills and knowledge by participating actively in board and committee meetings.
  • Ensuring the corporation is complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.
