Walk the Talk With Dana debuts April 6-7

Registration is being held for the inaugural Walk The Talk With Dana (WVU football coach Dana Holgorsen) event, sponsored by the Hoss Foundation in support of the Hostetler Family Resource Center at WVU Medicine Children’s. The events are being held April 6-7.

Weekend activities are:

Friday, April 6

  • A VIP Family Resource Center reception will be held at Kegler's from 6-9 pm. (many former WVU players and coaches will be in attendance).

Saturday, April 7

  • Walk the Talk with Dana is a 2.7-mile walk from 9-10 a.m.
  • Family Resource Center 5K is a 3.1-mile race from 9-10 a.m.
  • The Li’l Mountaineer Dash (12 and under fun run on Mountaineer Field) starts at 10 a.m.

The walk and 5K both start in front of the Milan Puskar Center, make their way up to the WVU Law School, past WVU President Gordon Gee's home, through the Blue Lot in front of the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, then through the tunnel for an exciting finish on Mountaineer Field in the north end zone.

After the Walk and the 5K, the Li'l Mountaineer Dash starts in the north end zone on Mountaineer Field, makes it way through a course down to the south end zone, then a 100 yard dash back through the finish at the north end zone.

Also, participants are encouraged to hold a “Quarterback Drive” for the event, collecting as many quarters as they can to donate to the Family Resource Center that morning.

These events lead up to the annual Gold-Blue spring football game, which starts at 1 p.m. at Milan Puskar Stadium.

The Hostetler Family Resource Center is dedicated to the support of family-centered care. Its mission is to ensure families are armed with the needed resources while receiving care and services so that their sole focus can be on their child during their stay at WVU Medicine Children’s.
