WBOY: Social Workers, Health Care Providers Gather for WVU's Summer Institute on Aging

WBOY - Social workers and health care providers are in Morgantown this week for WVU's summer institute on aging.

This year's theme is "Redefining and Celebrating Aging" as a larger portion of the state's population reaches retirement age and beyond.

The institute will focus on how to keep senior engaged in their communities and what services the state needs to help them do that.

"Integrating behavioral health with healthcare, we're looking at different types of living arrangements, we're looking at just a lot of different supports so that people can stay in their homes," said Jackie Englehardt, Institute on Aging Coordinator.

More than 250 professionals have signed up for the institute its biggest group ever.

It will continue Wednesday.
