WV Cancer Plan 2016-2020 to be released Jan. 27

Logo of Mountains of Hope Cancer CoalitionThe West Virginia Cancer Plan 2016-2020, a statewide blueprint for cancer prevention and control, will be released to the public at the Culture Center Great Hall in Charleston at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 27.  The plan is a consensus-based, strategic document for public and private sector cancer control activities aimed at reducing the impact of cancer in communities throughout West Virginia.  It was prepared byMountains of Hope, West Virginia’s Cancer Coalition -- made up of more than 130 community-based organizations, research and academic institutions, public and private agencies, coalitions, voluntary associations, patient advocacy groups, and other cancer-related organizations.  The WVU Cancer Institute is represented on the Coalition by several members of the Cancer Prevention and Control unit.
