WVU Cancer Institute to co-sponsor two-day course on immunization

The WVU Cancer Institute and the WVU Mountaineer Health Initiative are co-sponsoring a two-day course called “CDC Pink Book Training: Epidemiology and Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases."

The event will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, April 10-11, at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place.

The course will provide an overview of the principles of vaccination, general recommendations and best practice guidelines for immunization, vaccine safety, specific information about vaccine-preventable diseases and the vaccines that prevent them, and current issues related to immunization.

The course is intended for physicians, nurses, immunization providers, and program managers seeking the most current immunization information. A basic knowledge of biology and immunization is a prerequisite. Continuing education (approximately 14 contact hours) will be available at course completion through the CDC (CME, CNE, CECH, CEU, CPE, and CPH).
