WVU Department of Emergency Medicine announces new EM class of 2021

On March 20, the Department of Emergency Medicine proudly announced the new recruit class of 2021. The 10 new residents include four ladies and six gentleman who are excited to begin their journey here at West Virginia University and with WVU Medicine.

One of these new recruits was a WVU graduate who proudly served in the United States Air Force with three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as a flight surgeon. Three recruits came all the way from the West Coast and three others did visting rotations with the department prior to their selection as residents.

"Recruitment is always a challenging season and a lot of hard work for many, but the reward comes on Match Day when we have the privilege of welcoming a great group of rising residents and their families into our WVU EM family," said Dr. Erica Shaver, Associate Professor and Residency Program Director.

The Department of Emergency Medcine will welcome the group of new residents in summer 2018.
