WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center acquires new EEG system

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center recently purchased a new EEG diagnostic and monitoring system.  

The Nihon Kohden EEG-1200A system combines EEG, long-term epilepsy, cEEG ICU monitoring, and sleep testing for the most flexible and comprehensive recording system currently available.

“This is the same EEG system that is used at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown,” David Fillman, M.P.A., R.R.T., system director of cardiopulmonary and sleep/EEG, said. “One reason we chose Nihon Kohden is that the company has consistently provided high quality, reliable neurology products.”

Berkeley Medical Center will also now be able to interface with the EEG system in Morgantown, which will improve the quality of care and further develop neurology and support services in the Eastern Panhandle.

“Having state-of-the-art equipment is key along with experienced providers and professionals as WVU Medicine University Healthcare continues to grow and further develop our neurosciences service,” Fillman said.
