WVU Medicine Children's Service of Remembrance is June 16

WVU Medicine Children’s will hold its sixth annual Service of Remembrance in memory and honor of all children at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 16, in the Okey Patteson Auditorium.

At this year’s annual service, individual butterflies will be available for each family to release honoring their child/children. Families not present will be honored in a mass butterfly release. Those interested in adding a butterfly to the mass release are asked to make a donation in honor of a child and in support of the Service of Remembrance and the Supportive Care Program.

Family-centered care is a hallmark of WVU Medicine Children’s. The Perinatal and Pediatric Supportive Care Program provides a seamless support system for children and families facing life-threatening or life-limiting conditions. Gift dollars will not only fund this crucial program but will also enable the program to serve families better.

Donations can be made online at http://give.wvu.edu/remembranceservice.

Registration and refreshments will begin at 5 p.m. with the butterfly release to be held at 6:30 p.m. The Service of Remembrance will begin at 7 p.m.

Those interested in attending the event are asked to RSVP by June 1 by emailing bishoffy@wvumedicine.org or calling 304-598-4353. If you would like to participate in the program by reading a poem or through a musical performance, please make that known when you RSVP.
