WVU Medicine employees required to receive influenza vaccine for 2015 flu season

WVU Medicine is committed to putting patients’ interest and safety first. With this in mind, WVU Medicine, along with Monongalia General Hospital, is introducing a mandatory influenza vaccination program for all staff, providers, residents and volunteers across the enterprise, except in the case of medical or religious exemption. Flu shots will be offered starting Thursday, Oct. 1.

Last season, the medical staff and leadership led the way by committing to mandatory vaccination during the 2014 season. There was 100 percent compliance among the 700 medical staff members and advanced practice providers, residents and 300 managers, directors and senior management.
