WVU Medicine joins 38 other leading health systems in a partnership with Apple for Health app access

WVU Medicine patients can now utilize the Apple iPhone’s Health app to view their medical records. The app will complement the services currently offered through the MyWVUChart app.

According to Apple, “The updated Health Records section within the Health app helps consumers see medical information from various institutions organized into one view and receive notifications when their data is updated. This information can help patients better understand their health history, have informed conversations with physicians and family members, and make future decisions. Health Records data is encrypted and protected with the user’s iPhone passcode.”

“Here at WVU Medicine, we challenge ourselves to stay at the forefront of technology and innovation to deliver the best possible services to our patients,” Jim Venturella, WVU Medicine chief information officer, said. “Joining Apple in this revolutionary update of the Health app give us an opportunity to complement our patient portal and offer our patients ubiquitous access to their health information.”
