WVU Medicine leaders encourage employees, physicians to participate in engagement surveys
Last summer, WVU Medicine employees and WVU School of Medicine faculty completed an engagement survey. The response was significant. Ninety-three percent of WVU Medicine employees and 88 percent of WVU School of Medicine faculty shared their opinions.
WVU Medicine leadership heard the feedback, embraced it and have worked hard over the last year to bring about positive change in the areas where employees and physicians said the organization needed to do better.
Both surveys revealed that WVU Medicine is doing many things well. Employees felt supported in their work-life balance, while having the tools needed to help them perform their jobs. Recognition of employees by their supervisors also received high marks.
Faculty scored these areas the highest: opportunity to review patient satisfaction data, performance of laboratory services, ease of clinic scheduling process for patients and nursing staff responsiveness.
The survey results indicated some areas of opportunity identified by both groups: communication, collaboration, environment and workforce commitment. Read the memo from WVU Medicine President and CEO Albert Wright and Chief Experience Officer Todd Crocco, M.D. It highlights some of the ways these areas are being addressed.
This year's surveys will take place Monday, Aug. 10, starting at 1 a.m., through Tuesday, Sept. 8. Watch CONNECT and Inside View for details. And please take the time to let your voice be heard.
