WVU Medicine making progress on CNO, Human Resources positions

WVU Medicine has identified four candidates for its Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) position and is screening candidates for its human resources leadership position, according to Charlotte Bennett, current vice president for human resources, who is retiring in June.

Interviews for the CNO will begin the first week of April, and a decision could be made later that month, Bennett said. Dottie Oakes retired from her position as vice president and CNO for WVU Medicine Jan. 19. Doug Mitchell has been filling the CNO role on an interim basis.

The new human resources leader will have the title of Chief Human Resources Officer, with responsibilities for the entirety of WVU Medicine, while also serving as vice president of human resources for Ruby Memorial.

Following the screening process, WVU Medicine will identify at least three candidates who will be interviewed for the human resources position.
