WVU Medicine professor elected to serve on national palliative care committee

Alvin “Woody” Moss, M.D., professor and section chief of Supportive Services in the Department of Medicine, and director of the WVU Center for Health Ethics and Law was recently selected to serve on the National Quality Forum's (NQF) Palliative and End-of-Life Care Standing Committee for the Palliative and End-of-Life Endorsement Maintenance Project.

The goals of this project are to identify and endorse performance measures for accountability and quality improvement that address palliative and end-of-life care. The (NQF) is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan, membership-based organization that works to catalyze improvements in healthcare and is committed to helping our nation achieve better and affordable care, and improving the overall health of Americans.
