WVU Urgent Care hits milestone with 175,000 patients treated

Since opening its doors Sept. 7, 2007, WVU Urgent Care has seen more than 175,000 patients. Medical Director Carmen Burrell, D.O., said the 175,000th patient was seen Sept. 23 at the Suncrest Towne Centre.

"WVU Urgent Care has continued to expand services and grow with WVUMedicine," Dr. Burrell said. "Two years ago, we moved from our Van Voorhis location to the current Suncrest Towne Centre clinic with 12 exam rooms and three procedure rooms. We continue to offer immediate care for acute injuries and illness from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week."

WVU Urgent Care's second location is in Evansdale at the WVU Health and Education Building.
