Available for Android and iPhone usersMORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The road to reduced wait times at WVU Urgent Care is now just a download away with the launch of the clinic’s new smartphone app.
The app, which is available for Android and iPhone users, allows patients to get the latest information on the complete range of medical treatment available for minor illnesses and injuries at WVU Urgent Care.
Users can check current wait times, store important health info and learn more about WVU Urgent Care services and many others available through WVU Healthcare. The app also includes GPS navigation to locate the clinic and allows patients to submit feedback regarding their visit.
“At WVU Urgent Care, our patients come first. We try to reach out to the community through events such as health and wellness fairs and social networking such as Facebook,” Carmen Burrell, D.O., director of WVU Urgent Care, said. “The development of a personalized app available on Android and iPhone is the next step in improving patient satisfaction.”
Android users can download the app through the Google Play store at http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wvu&feature=nav_result#?t=W10, while iPhone users can download it through iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wvu-urgent-care/id565966624?mt=8.
WVU Urgent Care, located behind Applebee’s on Van Voorhis Road in Morgantown, opened in September 2007 and averages more than 55 patient visits daily with upwards of 75 patients treated daily during peak times, such as winter months and flu season.
In 2011, WVU Urgent Care became the first and only urgent care facility in West Virginia to be designated as a Certified Urgent Care by the Urgent Care Association of America.
Plans are currently underway to relocate WVU Urgent Care to a larger building in the Suncrest Towne Centre. It is expected to be opened in early to mid-2013.
