WVU volleyball team scores win and raises breast cancer awareness

October 21 was a great day for the WVU women’s volleyball team and for breast cancer awareness and support. The Mountaineers beat Kansas State in five sets during the annual “pink” match at the WVU Coliseum. Players and fans wore their pink, the jumbotron featured a big pink breast cancer ribbon and the public address announcer encouraged fans to join the WVU Cancer Institute in the fight against breast cancer. Fans heeded the call by donating more than $900 to the Cancer Institute’s Breast Cancer Program when they picked up official pink Mountaineer T-shirts at the Cancer Institute table set up inside the Coliseum.
