Members of the WVUH and Local 814 negotiating committee met on Monday, Dec. 26, and reached a tentative agreement on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement that would be effective on Jan. 1, 2017.
During the meeting, Local 814 provided the hospital with a signed statement of its formal withdrawal of the 10-day strike notice, which was issued on Dec. 22.
Both parties also agreed to extend the current contract so that a ratification vote can be held after the first of the year. Educational sessions and the vote on the new contract are expected to occur during the week of Jan. 2. As details are finalized, they will be shared with employees.
