WVUH recognized as a ‘great place to work’ for 2013

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A pair of national healthcare and business publications are saying what thousands in the Morgantown area already know: WVU Hospitals is a great place to work.

Becker’s Hospital Review and Becker’s ASC Review (focusing on ambulatory surgery centers) recently published their annual “100 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” list, which recognizes hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgery centers and physician groups that go the extra mile for staff.

WVU Hospitals, like each provider named on the “Great Places to Work” list, offers “a robust benefit package, positive work environment, excellent employee recognition programs and opportunities for professional development and continuing education.”

Becker’s noted that as a designated Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, WVU Hospitals offers flexible hours and generous benefits to nurses. WVUH also funds certification and recertification by national organizations. It has been named an “AARP Best Workplace for People Over 50” six times and offers an employee wellness center, on-site daycare and retirement counseling. In addition, employees enjoy discounts and special offers from local and national companies.

Becker’s Hospital Review is a monthly publication offering up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. Becker’s ASC Review features general business, legal and clinical guidance of special interest to ambulatory surgery centers.
