'Yoga for Wellbeing' begins Tuesday

The Wellness Center invites WVU Medicine employees to participate in "Yoga for Wellbeing," a class that runs each Tuesday and Thursday from Feb. 6 to April 26 at the WVU Health and Education Building (Room 101). Each class is from noon to 1 p.m.

Yoga can harmonize the body, mind, spirit, and breath and allows participants to find a state of peace and ease that’s accessible all week long.

The class uses mindful movement with a focus on proper alignment, breaking poses down into easily digestible parts and providing modifications to help you experience each pose in a way that best works with your body. A holistic yoga approach including asana (poses), pranayama (breath), mindfulness, meditation, and yogic philosophy is woven into each class in an easy-to-understand, personal way.

Appropriate for all levels, whether you’ve been intimidated to try yoga or are a seasoned practitioner looking for a complete approach to yoga and wellbeing.

Class fees:

$3 + 22 Wellness Points for employees of WVU Medicine and WVU

$25 for spouses and dependents of employees (employee spouses and dependents, ages 14-20, may participate as space permits)

$25 for WVU students
