Cardiovascular Research Training Program
The Research Training Program in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Sciences is designed to formalize and expand already established graduate research training initiatives in cardiovascular and pulmonary biology at West Virginia University Health Sciences Center.
The primary objective of this graduate training program is to provide state-of-the-art research training to pre-doctoral PhD students and joint MD/PhD students who desire to become successful, independent investigators doing biomedical research.
We are especially focused on the training of students who plan to pursue full-time careers in either a basic science or clinical department within an academic institution; a major research institute setting (such as NIH, Burnham Institute, HHMI, etc.) and/or a major pharmaceutical corporation directing research projects relevant to cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.
The Cardio Training Program is supported by NHLBI grant T32 HL090610.
