What puts the waddle in the walk of moms-to-be?

Dr. Jean McCrory's research discussed on NPR

Jean McCrory, Ph.D.'s, research was recently featured in a NPR story about how pregnancy changes the way women walk. Dr. McCrory studies gait and balance in pregnant women.

In addition to studying gait and balance biomechanics, particularly as they relate to special populations, such as the elderly or pregnant women, she is actively researching several biomechanical issues related to falls and pain, and malalignment in pregnant women. An additional active research project involves the relationship between pelvic floor dysfunction and postural instability in women.
