New workshop addresses managing conflict in laboratories

A new workshop, hosted by the Office of Research and Graduate Education, will introduce basic concepts in relation to conflict in the lab and how to best identify it, manage and address it.

The conflict resolution and medication workshop will be held Monday, Jan. 29 from 10-12:30 p.m. in 201 BMRC, and will discuss introductory strategies relating to responsiveness to conflict, how it affects the work environment and how colleagues might assist each other when facing conflict.

Led by Thomas Patrick, teaching professor emeritus at the WVU School of Law, and Joanna DiStephano, executive assistant and event planner in the Health Sciences Office of the Vice President, the workshop is intended to ensure attendees have the resources and personal tools to manage conflict.

Those interested in attending should RSVP to Holly Legleiter at hlegleiter@hsc.wvu.edu by January 25.
