Honoring those who excel in research, teaching and service missions of the Health Sciences Center
On April 8, 2016, the Office of Research and Graduate Education recognized the achievements and participation of our graduate students in the research, teaching and service missions of the Health Science Center. As part of this ceremony, awards were given to faculty who are outstanding mentors and to graduate students who are outstanding in their graduate programs.
Dr. Kimberly Kelly from the School of Pharmacy won the award for outstanding mentor and Dr. Christa Lilly from the School of Public Health won honorable mention for this award. The characteristics that were common to great mentors and to these 2 members of the faculty were treating their students as colleagues, providing consistent guidance both positive and negative, and motivating the student to even more productive than they thought they could be.
