- One official transcript from each college attended.
- A complete application requires a written personal statement highlighting relevant research experiences, your reasons for applying to the Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs in the Biomedical Sciences at West Virginia University, and potential career goals.
- Three recommendation letters from professors who can evaluate your performances in coursework and research and potential to be a successful graduate student.

Application Review Process:
- All Ph.D. applications are reviewed from November through March by a Common Admissions Committee comprised of the graduate directors of our seven graduate training programs, a senior PhD student, and the Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies.
- Qualified Ph.D. applicants are invited in groups of 10 or more students for a paid, 2.5 day visit/interview to the campus. Students with excellent credentials and who demonstrate a passion for research at the interview are accepted for admission on a rolling basis.
- Travel costs and hotel accommodations for the visit/interview are paid by the HSC WVU Office of Research and Graduate Education. We will schedule your air flight and arrange your hotel accomodation.
- For maximum admissions consideration, we recommend that you apply as early as possible.
