Eyewash Log

Eyewash and eye drenching units are regulated under the 29 Code of Federal Regualations 1910.151(c). The regulations states:

"Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use."

It is important to ensure that the eyewashes and drenching units are inspected and tested weekly as required by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard Z358.1 5.5.2.

Each laboratory in the Health Sciences Center is required to test their eyewashes weekly and keep a record of the testing. Please use the following log when recording eyewash tests each week:
