- Meningococcal vaccine
- Polio series
- Tetanus-Diptheria-Pertussis (DTaP, Tdap, DT and Td)

Documentation of these immunizations must be submitted to the Office of Admissions and Records prior to enrollment in the Fall 2008 semester.

Immunizations Available at SHS for those currently enrolled at WVU:
Hepatits A ($60.00/dose): Protects against serious liver disease, which is spread by close personal contact and by eating food or drinking water containing the virus. Recommended for persons traveling outside the U.S. to countries with high rates of Hepatitis A. A booster is recommended 6-months after the first injection.
Hepatitis B ($60.00/dose): Protects against serious liver disease which may result in cirrhosis or liver cancer. Hepatitis B is spread by contact with blood and bodily fluids. Requires three doses over a 6 month period.
Hepatitis A/B (Twinrix) ($95.00/dose): Protects against Hepatitis A and B. Requires three doses over 6 months, with a booster dose in an additional 6 months.
Varivax ($90.00 Varivax): Protects against chicken pox, usually mild disease, but which can be serious in infants and adults. Symptoms include a rash, itching, fever. Requires 2 doses in an 8-week period.
Meningitis ($115.00 Menactra): Protects against the most common strains of Meningoccocal Meningitis.
Flu / Influenza ($10.00): Protects against Influenza, an acute contagious respiratory infection. Offered seasonally starting in November.
PPD / Tuberculin Skin Test ($10.00): Determines if an exposure to TB has occurred. A positive reaction usually means that the person has been infected with the TB germ. It does not necessarily mean the person has TB disease. Other tests, such as an x-ray or sputum sample are needed to see if the person has TB disease.
Adacil (Tetanus / Diptheria / Pertussis) ($50.00) or (co-pay only if due to an injury): Tetanus (lockjaw) and Diphtheria are serious diseases. Tetanus is caused by a germ that enters the body though a cut or wound. Diphtheria spreads when germs pass from an infected person to the nose and throat of others. Pertussis, also known as whooping cough can affect adults for a couple of months, and is quite contagious.
Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) ($60.00/dose): Measles virus causes rash, cough, runny nose, eye irritation, and fever. It can lead to ear infection, pneumonia, seizures, brain damage, and death. Mumps virus causes fever, headaches, and swollen glands. It can lead to deafness, meningitis, painful swelling of the testicles or ovaries, and rarely death. Rubella (German Measles) virus causes rash, mild fever, and arthritis (mostly in women).
Gardasil (Human Papillomavirus - Cervical Cancer) ($140.00/dose): This three dose series protects against four strains of Human Papillomavirus, two which cause external ano-genital warts, and two which cause 70% of cervical cancers.
