Walmart Associate Program
“The WVU Foundation, Inc. was chosen as one of the five non profits in the State
of WV to be put on the ballot for an opportunity to be the recipient of $100,000
from the Walmart Foundation. The voters are the associates (employees) of
Walmart and Sam’s Club throughout the state and each associate receives one
vote. This interactive campaign will allow Walmart associates to vote on the
causes that they identify as important to the company and the community.
In the state of WV, Walmart’s community impact includes: 36 Supercenters, 1
Discount Store, and 5 Sam’s Clubs. As of May 2010 in WV, the total number of
Walmart associates is 12,255. As of May 2010 in WV the average wage for a
regular full-time hourly associate is $11.54 per hour.
WVU Children’s Hospital, WVU Eye Institute, WVU School of Dentistry’s
Lessons in
a Lunchbox, WVU Extension’s Energy Express, and WVU Health Science Technology
Academy are the affiliates that will benefit from the Walmart Associate’s
CHOICE; these are among many WVU affiliates who provide service and outreach
throughout the state.
Please feel free to share this information with family, friends, and neighbors
who may be associates at Walmart or Sam’s Club.
Mark your calendars and the winner will
be announced in August!”

The Dentistry Dean's Club Announced!
We are excited to report the renewal of a program created many years ago by Dr.
Biddington – The Dean’s Club. Many
of you may recall when Dr. Biddington initiated this program; donors who gave
annually at a certain level would receive a special Dean’s Club lapel pin. Well, we’ve given the Dean’s Club
program a 21st Century makeover and invite you to join other alumni
and friends of the School to enhance and strengthen our programs.
