Department of Restorative Dentistry
The Department of Restorative Dentistry has 13 full-time faculty, 7 part-time faculty, and 7 staff members. The department is made up of three divisions -- Dental Materials, Operative, and Prosthodontics -- and the Graduate Prosthodontics Program. We have the responsibility of teaching 13 clinical sciences courses, ranging from dental anatomy through implantology, and the 3 clinical courses of operative dentistry, fixed prosthodontics, and removable prosthodontics for D.D.S. candidates. The graduate prosthodontics program is a 3-year, fully accredited program with three students. The department’s goal is to contribute to the School of Dentistry’s mission by promoting the highest standards of professionalism and clinical competence for students of restorative dentistry. This is to be accomplished in an environment where evidence-based patient care is viewed as our top priority, with continuous improvement of individual departmental personnel and curriculum as its foundation.
