The Department of Dental Research and Student Research Group(SRG) in the WVU School of Dentistry affords dental students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of various aspects of dentistry by taking part in research projects of many types.

The focused areas of research include biomaterials, drug evaluations, health services, and educational evalutions.

The Department of Dental Research holds two events each year:

• Research Day - February
• Annual Research Convocation

Students also have access to a Compedium of dental faculty members' research interests to assist them when selecting a topic.
