Academic Information

Dr. Thomas’ broad range of teaching/student interests is highlighted by his primary appointment in Pathology, complemented by active design and participation in the other Schools as Adjunct Professor for over 15 years: Dentistry (Periodontology); Pharmacy (Outcomes and Cost Assessment) and Graduate School (Cellular Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis). Here he integrates and coordinates doctoral, post-doctoral and pre-doctoral students in clinical research, with their interest activated by dynamic lectures and a clinical real-time focus.

“Student focus” highlights that students publish or assimilate into clinical practice their accomplishments. Hence, in 2004/5 there were three publications, three book chapters, eleven posters/abstracts of national/international meetings, and three awards with students as co-investigators.
